The BMU-110 is more than just a standard controller: it is the decision-making brain of the battery, combining robustness, modularity and advanced safety for retrofit, motorsport and stationary storage applications.
Its master/slave architecture guarantees unrivalled scalability: a single BMU can manage an unlimited number of CMUs, enabling centralised and secure control of packs up to 900 V.
More than just an electronic board, it is a decision-making unit that continuously centralises, analyses and controls all of your pack's vital parameters. Its robustness and modularity make it a key component for any automotive retrofit, electric mobility or stationary storage project.
A central role in the electrical ecosystem
The Battery Management Unit is at the heart of battery safety and performance.
The XAP BMU is capable of monitoring each cell in real time (voltage, temperature, state of charge), calculating essential indicators such as State of Charge (SoC), State of Health (SoH), and State of Power (SoP), have a direct control of power relays and safety devices, and communicating with inverter, charger, dashboard, and telemetry systems.
Modular and scalable architecture
The BMU operates in a master-slave architecture (BMU + CMU), adaptable to all configurations: Low voltage (60 V) for light vehicles, Medium voltage (200 V) for automotive retrofit projects, High voltage (600 V and above) for heavy-duty and industrial vehicles, and Multi-pack modular architectures for stationary storage.
This scalability allows the BMU to manage both small city retrofits and large 100 kWh industrial packs, ensuring flexibility without reliability loss.
Embedded intelligence and active safety
The BMU integrates advanced control logic developed by XAP: immediate anomaly detection (overvoltage, undervoltage, overheating, imbalance), corrective actions (relay cut-off, current limitation, safety fallback), full event logging for traceability and diagnostics, compatibility with remote maintenance and OTA updates.
Its dedicated software, BMS Editor, allows easy parameterization and calibration for different applications (urban retrofit, extreme rally, solar storage, etc.).
Proven reliability in the field
The BMU has been validated in real-world extreme conditions such as the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles, where XAP battery systems demonstrated outstanding robustness against heat, vibrations, and heavy stress.
The XAP advantage
Unlike imported or generic solutions, the XAP BMU offers: 100% French design, native integration with all other XAP products (inverters, CMU, ElectroBox, dashboards), active safety with proprietary algorithms, and complete traceability (critical for retrofit homologation).
With the XAP BMU, you benefit from a reliable, modular, and scalable brain to secure your electrical systems and maximize performance. Contact us to define the BMU configuration best suited to your project.
