The Formula V4S steering wheel is the most advanced evolution of XAP Technology’s Formula V4 research program. It integrates a unique combination of three real-time controllers and a multi-core processor running a Linux distribution entirely developed by XAP. Today, it is the only racing steering wheel featuring dual independent displays, a multi-sequencer architecture and a multi-core embedded processor, all housed within an extremely robust composite structure.
The Formula V4S features two independent screens, each capable of displaying its own information layer: engine data, warnings, strategies, hybrid management, telemetry streams, system messages, and more. This dual-display layout provides exceptional ergonomics, allowing drivers to clearly distinguish critical information during high-intensity racing.
At the core of the V4S is an advanced computing platform built around: – a multi-core processor, – a secured Linux distribution engineered in-house by XAP, – three synchronized real-time controllers managing displays, logic sequences, critical timing tasks and data processing. This architecture delivers deterministic execution, ultra-fast processing and a level of software flexibility never before integrated into a racing steering wheel.
The V4S incorporates a powerful multi-sequencer engine, enabling simultaneous or layered execution of complex strategies: energy management, chassis modes, hydraulic or hybrid sequences, automated sequences and custom race functions. The Formula V4S is enclosed in an extremely robust composite housing, combining reinforced carbon and precision-machined structural elements.
