The XAP Video & Recorders range delivers professional embedded video display and synchronized recording solutions designed for motorsport, harsh environments and applications requiring detailed driver and vehicle behaviour analysis. It is built around two complementary product families: the NTR video displays and the NT-V audio/video recorders, both fully developed by XAP Technology based on its expertise in embedded instrumentation and data acquisition.
The NTR video displays support NTSC / PAL camera inputs for onboard video sources (rear view, engine bay, cockpit, external environment). They can operate as mirror displays, enhancing driver safety without diverting attention from the driving line. Thanks to the XAP platform, NTR displays allow CAN data overlay (speed, RPM, alarms, temperatures) directly on the video stream. Communicating over CAN FD up to 10 Mb, they integrate seamlessly into modern motorsport and test vehicle architectures.
The NT-V recorders provide an all-in-one solution combining video, audio and vehicle data logging. They support up to 8 video streams, multiple audio inputs, a 20 Hz GPS and an 8 GB internal logger, enabling precise synchronization between images, sound and telemetry. Built on a dual-processor architecture with a real-time controller, NT-V recorders ensure smooth and reliable processing without saturation, even under extreme operating conditions.
The NT-V range is intercom-ready, allowing direct recording of driver/co-driver or driver/pit communications within the audio stream, without additional hardware. Recorded data can be correlated with video using XAP analysis tools or third-party software, facilitating post-session review, driver debriefing, event analysis and performance improvement.
Designed for harsh environments, XAP Video & Recorder products feature aluminium enclosures, wide-range power supply (8–25 V), high resistance to vibration and an extended operating temperature range (–20°C to +85°C). They are equally suited for motorsport applications (rally, endurance, GT, LMP) and for industrial, marine or embedded test systems.
