The XAP Precharge Relay Electronic Board is an intelligent subsystem designed to safely energize high-voltage architectures up to 900 VDC. By controlling inrush current during capacitor charging and DC-link energization, it protects relays, contactors, inverters, and power electronics while improving overall system reliability.
The XAP Precharge Relay Electronic Board provides a controlled and secure startup sequence for high-voltage systems. During HV activation, it precisely manages inrush current, preventing destructive current peaks that could damage critical power components.
Designed for automotive, motorsport, industrial, and electric conversion applications, it ensures a reliable precharge phase before full-power operation.
Its intelligent precharge logic and continuous monitoring help extend the service life of key high-voltage components:
• Power relays
• HV contactors
• DC-Link capacitors
• Inverters and power converters
• Energy storage systems
The board can operate as a stand-alone module within an electrical enclosure or test bench, or as part of the XAP Smart Relay 500 architecture.
Key features include:
• Automatic five-step precharge sequence
• Hall-effect current measurement
• Hall-effect voltage measurement
• Digital supervision through Relay 500 controller
• Diagnostic feedback and traceability
• Full compatibility with XAP BMU, BMS, Relay 500 and NT-Logger systems
Developed for high-voltage embedded systems, the board incorporates galvanic isolation and has been designed to comply with ISO 26262 ASIL-B subsystem requirements.
• Nominal voltage up to 900 VDC
• Typical charging current: 50 A
• Isolation voltage ≥ 3000 VDC
• Operating temperature: -40 °C to +85 °C
• Integrated protection using diodes, RC filters and decoupling capacitors
