The XAP Technology E-SHIFT 3R is a rotary electric actuator designed to operate most sequential racing gearboxes. Its self-contained architecture replaces the pumps, accumulators, solenoid valves, hoses, filters and fluids required by a conventional system. Controlled via CAN or direct digital inputs, it makes it easier to build a compact, configurable gearshift system tailored to the vehicle architecture.
The actuator can be mounted directly on the selector barrel when the mechanical configuration allows. XAP offers two rotation angles, 40° and 45°, to suit different control requirements. Permanent-magnet technology, the magnetic spring and the contactless position sensor combine rotational force, progressive control and contactless position measurement.
The E-SHIFT 3R transmits diagnostic information over the CAN network and also stores on-board diagnostics. XAP can adapt the actuator to the project’s specific requirements and assist with its electrical, electronic and mechanical integration.
The E-SHIFT 3R combines gearshift actuation, position measurement and control electronics in a single unit. Integrators can control gear changes via CAN or digital signals, then use CAN diagnostics to monitor the system. XAP recommends confirming the rotation angle, mechanical interface, power supply, protection and wiring before installation.
The actuator operates from an 8 to 17 V power supply, with a stated maximum current of 140 A. Power supply and power ground are connected through a quick-release connector.
