WAKE-110 — CAN-controlled relay switching

The XAP Technology WAKE-110 is an electronic board designed to switch relays via CAN in autonomous systems or installations with a limited power supply. It puts the electronics into sleep mode to reduce current draw, then wakes the system through a CAN message or push-button. Three high-side outputs restore power to the required devices, with a stated wake-up time of 50 ms.

The WAKE-110 allows integrators to define when an installation should remain active or enter sleep mode. This targeted power management is suited to architectures that need to preserve their available energy between operating periods, without requiring each device to be powered up manually.

Technical specifications and integration

The WAKE-110 connects to the CAN network and also accepts a push-button wake-up command. Connector J1 combines the power input, CAN bus, wake-up input and three power outputs. XAP can help define the control strategy and wiring required for the project architecture.

Integration

The integrator connects the power supply to pin 8 and ground to pin 7. CAN P and CAN N connect to pins 5 and 6, while the three high-side outputs supply the devices to be woken. Pin 4 receives the digital wake-up command. The supply voltage range is 8 to 27 V.
